I approach mortgage planning with an emphasis on educating and building relationships with my clients. The most important value I can provide is taking the time to identify their needs, educate them and explain the different options pertaining to their situation.
I operate with total transparency in each transaction to ensure that my clients are comfortable with the mortgage process and my service. It is important to me that they’re satisfied long after the transaction ends. I make it a point to continue to check in with clients and become a resource for them in the future.
I take a great deal of pride in following through on my promises from the onset of our relationship.
I have been interested in personal finance for as long as I can remember. After studying finance in college, I started working in the banking industry. I quickly realized that I enjoyed building professional relationships with clients and helping them work through the process of planning their mortgage as part of their overall financial goals.
The most recent one that has funded.
Spending time with my wife Jessica and daughter Isla, socializing with friends, or punishing myself on a mountain bike at one of the great trails we have in the area.
Make-A-Wish Foundation: Seeing what a granted wish can do for the many children and their families who are affected by life-threatening medical conditions is amazing. I love hearing stories on how Make-A-Wish Foundation is brightening the lives of those it serves. I have been fortunate enough, along with the generous help of my clients, to have been able to grant three wishes over the last three years during the "Season of Wishes."
Oregon Humane Society: My wife and I have adopted three kittens over the years from the Oregon Humane Society, and they need all the resources that they can get to help care for and protect animals who will, hopefully, one day find a loving family to be a part of.
Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run: A program that inspires a community to support the youth of Hawaii. My wife and I visit Kauai as frequently as possible, and although it is paradise that we see, there are many challenges that youth in the area face, such as drug and alcohol abuse. This program raises money to provide year-round support to help empower kids to maintain a healthy life.
The support I receive from everyone involved. Having in-house underwriting, documentation and processing allows me to work with the same group of people on each loan, which leads to efficiencies that are not found with many other lenders.
Mortgage Trust is also a collective group of people who enjoy giving back to the community, our clients and friends. Whether it is our annual Thanks and Giving party that raises toys and supplies for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, paid leave to participate in our favorite charity, or supporting a number of different non-profits that the employees are passionate about; Mortgage Trust is always very supportive and willing to step in and make a difference.
I grew up in Florence, OR, but I wanted to live in a larger city. I still enjoy visiting Florence as often as possible to see family and spend time at the great dunes, ocean and lakes.
Portland has the perfect mix of large-city amenities with a smaller-city feel, and it’s in a perfect location to do many of my free-time activities. There is always something to do here, whether it is trying a new restaurant or enjoying one of my favorite outdoor pursuits. In under a couple hours, I can be at the beach, in the mountains or on a great biking trail.
I married my wife Jessica
Tom Cherones (director of 81 episodes of Seinfeld, my all-time favorite show) came to a birthday party of mine in Florence and told stories about crewmembers and deleted scenes.
