When I’m not working, I am most likely at a movie theatre, trying a new restaurant, wandering around the Saturday Market, or hosting friends. On a typical “boring” night I am probably at home with my husband and our cat trying to make an edible dinner.
I am from Ukiah, CA, which is a small town in the northern part of the state. It was a great place to grow up, but I always knew that I didn’t want to stay forever. I moved to Southern California for college and quickly realized that I missed the climate and culture of my upbringing. After a lot of dreaming and planning, my husband and I decided to move to Oregon to be closer to friends and to an area we both love.
One time while my family and I were hiking in a park near my hometown, my mom could have sworn she passed Dustin Hoffman on one of the paths. None of us believed her until we were leaving the park and noticed him loading up in the car next to us. We didn’t actually meet him, but he shot us a friendly wave.
I used to love horseback riding and developed a decent practice at one point. That occupied most of my time growing up.
I absolutely love the people and the culture here.
I once went on a trip to London with a group of friends from college. I am typically pretty terrible with directions, but by day two of the trip I was mostly leading the way around the city. They rewarded me with an arts and craftsy medal naming me “Most Improved Navigator.” I was pretty proud of that!
