The path that led me to Mortgage Trust was a little different than most. I owned a Tea Company in Downtown Vancouver, WA prior to joining the MTI team. I sold my business and was looking for an exciting new career. After hearing about the supportive culture that is embraced at Mortgage Trust, I decided to come aboard in 2013. I live just across the bridge with my husband and our four children.
I am usually hanging out with my awesome kiddos! We love to ride bikes, visit our farmer’s market and watch movies. Doing all of those in one day would make the perfect Sunday for me.
I was born in Washington state, but then moved to St. Louis, Missouri when I was four. We lived there during the great Cardinal baseball years of Willie McGee and Ozzie Smith! We made our way back to the Northwest to be closer to family. I have always considered the beautiful, green Northwest my home.
Over the years my family has been involved with a program called “Children of the Dump,” located outside Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It’s a wonderful program that helps feed and educate the families that live by the city’s dump.
I was shopping at Nordstrom in the Vancouver Mall when I saw Sara Gilbert who played “Darlene” on the TV show, Rosanne. We were both looking at the same shoes. It was the early 90’s, so it was pretty cool at the time!
I played volleyball for many years and while I was a foreign exchange student in Mexico my senior year of high school, I was able to play with their local team. It was a great experience to play with people who looked at the game differently than what I was used to in the United States. I will always treasure the experience I had there.
