After many years in the mortgage industry and six years as a software engineer and web developer, I formed Strategy7 as part of Mortgage Trust, Inc. in 2008. I earned a B.S. in finance and marketing from the University of Montana, and a post-graduate degree in applied information technology.
My mission is to provide sound financial advice to my clients and guide them toward financial independence. My specialty is implementing the right mortgage plan for a particular person’s investment strategy.
Away from work, I spend time on the basketball and tennis courts. I also like running, skiing (poorly), hiking, traveling, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.
I got into the business during the purchase of my first investment property in NW Portland. My realtor was a close friend, as was my mortgage lender. During the transaction, they both talked to me about getting into real estate, specifically lending. They wanted me to get out of my office job, which involved 10-hour days writing software code. They thought the analytical side of lending would appeal to me. Plus, I would get to meet new people and build new relationships. They were right. I love the business, and 2013 marks my eighth year in the industry.
My main objective is to improve my clients’ financial lives. In addition to helping them secure the best terms on the commodity of the home loan, I strive to help my clients achieve three main goals: identify financial threats in their lives, maintain and fulfill financial obligations and identify financial opportunities. These goals are what Strategy7 is all about.
